NAS is currently hiring for the following two positions:

1. Senior Advocate – Southern Region – Permanent Contract

The National Advocacy Service for People with Disabilities is seeking to recruit a Senior Advocate for a permanent contract. The post will be based in the Southern Region

NAS provides an independent, confidential and free representative advocacy service that works exclusively for people with disabilities. The service is person-centred, accountable, accessible, impartial and independent of service providers, families and other supports.

The organisation has a particular remit for adults with disabilities who are isolated from their community and services, have communication differences, are inappropriately accommodated, live in residential services, attend day services and have limited informal or natural supports.

Salary: €51,590 – €57,376 (pro-rata)

 

Incremental Credit: It is expected, that all new entrants to the National Advocacy Service for People with Disabilities will be appointed at point one of the salary scale. However, the National Advocacy Service for People with Disabilities operates an incremental credit process for appointments higher than point one. This process is applicable to new entrants into the National Advocacy Service for People with Disabilities. Incremental credit criteria, based on the competencies for the role, are assessed against employment history as laid out in the application form only. A request for incremental credit from a successful candidate must be made within the first 3 months of employment. The decision on whether or not to award an incremental credit is a decision made by the Board and is subject to the availability of funding.

Annual Leave: 24 – 26 days (following 5 years service)

 Location: Cork

 Hours: The position is full time (35 hours per week) and may involve working some unsocial hours.

 Pension: There is a pension scheme is in place where 5% is contributed by the employee and 7% by the employer. Membership of the pension scheme is mandatory.

The position entails travel, therefore access to the use of a car is a requirement for the post.

The Senior Advocate will be asked to obtain Garda clearance before they begin work.

A Regional panel may be formed of qualified candidates from which permanent full-time Senior Advocate posts, which arise within the next 12 months will be filled, should vacancies arise in this period.

2. Senior Advocate – Midlands Northeast, Cavan/Longford – Temporary, Fixed term contract – part time

The National Advocacy Service for People with Disabilities is seeking to recruit a part time (20 hours per week), Senior Advocate for a temporary contract with an expected end date of December 2026. . The post will be based in the Midlands Northeast Region in Longford Town, Co Longford.

NAS provides an independent, confidential and free representative advocacy service that works exclusively for people with disabilities. The service is person-centred, accountable, accessible, impartial and independent of service providers, families and other supports.

The organisation has a particular remit for adults with disabilities who are isolated from their community and services, have communication differences, are inappropriately accommodated, live in residential services, attend day services and have limited informal or natural supports.

Salary: €51,590 – €57,376 (pro-rata).

Pension: There is a pension scheme is in place where 5% is contributed by the employee and 7% by the employer. Membership of the pension scheme is mandatory.

Annual Leave entitlement: 24 – 26 days (after 5 years’ service) pro rata for part-time work.
